This tool is for preliminary sizing. Final design must be verified with material tests, the relevant standards and equipment manufacturer data.
Formulas
- Filter area
- A = Q [m³/min] / (A/C) [m/min]
- Bag area
- a = π · d · L (+ π·d²/4)
- Number of bags
- n = ⌈A / a⌉
Choosing the air-to-cloth ratio
The air-to-cloth ratio (filtration velocity) is the volume of air passing through 1 m² of filter fabric per minute. Lower values are used for fine, sticky or high-concentration dust, higher values for coarse, dry dust. The final value should be set from dust analysis and filter manufacturer data.
We prepared jet-pulse filter manufacturing drawings for the dust collection systems of our Bigadiç granular fertilizer and Kırka borax pentahydrate plants.
